When facility personnel step on the conveyor belts, the risk of occupational accidents increases significantly. Hamburger Recycling Turkey requested occupational safety improvements for four conveyor belts throughout the facility to detect and prevent this risk:
- Detection of personnel on the conveyor
- Stopping the conveyor system when personnel approach the press within defined distances
- Detection of personnel moving away from the conveyor
- Allowing the conveyor system to be reactivated with a push-button after personnel have been out of the danger zone for a defined time

The press unit at the end of the conveyor line creates a significant risk of occupational injury to personnel. Therefore, the solution's most essential expectation is to prevent risks induced by a delay in data communication or a breakdown in system communication.
The Wipelot lone worker safety system enables first responders to reach an injured employee more quickly and provides a safer working environment for employees who are injured or in need of assistance in an isolated or dangerous area. This system also tracks, records, and reports work-related injuries that occur at remote locations, as well as recurring injuries that might be related to unsafe work procedures.

High-precision personnel location tracking with closed-circuit RFID technology
Wipelot's high-precision closed-circuit UWB technology has been deployed to improve worker safety around the plant's four conveyors and press units. Furthermore, the system is supported by an algorithm with additional security scenarios to reduce data transmission delays and interruptions.
Precise distance measurements are monitored with the Wipelot active RFID-based UWB tags carried by personnel. Thus, an increase in occupational safety was achieved by stopping the press units in the event of potentially dangerous distance violations by personnel and restarting them after safety checks.
